How to Install GnomeHub

Step 1 - Finding the extension on the store

1.Go to our extension on the Gnome Store

2. Next to Download select your Gnome Shell version

a. If you dont know your gnome shell version, run gnome-shell --version on your linux desktop terminal and find out!

3.In the top right, TOGGLE your extension to be ON/OFF

4. Once done, move to Step 2

Step 2 - Confirming & Checking for bugs

1. Once installed, you should see Hub in your desktop navigation bar (top bar)

2. If not, please let us know on our Discord / GitHub and we will look into fixing the bug for you!

3. You should be all set! move to Step 3

Step 3 - Reviewing our project

Thank you for installing our extension. We are a young and constantly developing extension. Please leave us a review and let us know if you find a bug! We would love for you to join our community. You can find us on Discord

Step 1 - Setting up your terminal:

1. Open Terminal on your linux desktop

2. Run sudo apt get update

3. Make sure you have git installed on your local terminal, if not, instructions are available here

4. Once complete, move onto Step 2

Step 2 - Installing Git Repository:

1. Go to https://github.com/gnome-hub/gnomehub_extension/ on your browser

2. Click on the Code button and copy the link under the HTTP tab

3. Open Terminal on your desktop and run git clone **place copied link here**

4. Once complete, move to Step 3

Step 3 - Installing the Extension:

1. Once the git command runs successfully, cd into the Git Directory

2. Run ./install.sh to install the extension. This will make your desktop restart and temporarily will freeze everything but should not take more than 10-15 seconds.

3. You're all set!
