The Idea
4 students at the University of Notre Dame wanted to create a one stop extension for notifications, widgets and system stats instead of having to install different extensions for each. Hence, the idea for GnomeHub was born.

GnomeHub is an open source, community developed gnome desktop envirnment based extension. Wether you are new to linux or an experienced programmer, it offers a customisable solution to recieve notifications, keep track of system stats and access custom widgets as per your needs.
4 students at the University of Notre Dame wanted to create a one stop extension for notifications, widgets and system stats instead of having to install different extensions for each. Hence, the idea for GnomeHub was born.
The team got together to plan out the features for the final product. A design template was made and the first step taken was to create a discord for our community along with a GitHub repository to host our code!
After a few weeks of exploring gnome and setting up a basic gnome extension, the extension finally displays the information it is supposed to! The team worked to get the notifications, weather data & system stats and store them in the code locally. Next step, UI!
After reviewing project requirements and looking at the progress so far, the team made note of their next steps. They plan to introduce a better UI for notifications, more system stats and more options for widgets allowing better customisation. The next month will be spent working on these elements!
It's official! Our first version is now live on the Gnome Store! Go over to our Download section for installation instructions and get in touch with us through our Discord incase you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you enjoy this extension :)
